Hey guys! I am so excited to share this next book with you guys. Now I got this book from my lovely mother for my birthday back in December and I read most of it during my Christmas break and then when I went back to school I got so busy with my internship and school that I wasn’t able to finish it but tonight I picked it up and was able to finish it.
The book I’m reviewing today is called i am n. It is about the true stories of Christians who face Muslim extremists. This book is so powerful and will bring tears to your eyes. The stories in this book are so horrific and it’s hard to believe how these Christians are being persecuted.
So before I go on, I would like to explain the title of the book. I was confused by the title at first but “n” stands for the Arabic letter muslim extremists use to identity Christians.
One of the stories in the book that really touched my heart is chapter 32 called “Point-Blank Forgiveness” and it takes place in Nigeria. Habila Adamu and his family were sleeping in their house one night when they were invaded by radical muslims. They demanded that Habila gather his family outside. They asked if Habila was a christian or muslim and he said christian. The radical muslims told him to change his answer or he would be killed. Habila stated once again that he was a christian and they shot him in the head and left. Habila’s wife bent down to him and Habila told her that he was still alive. Through the grace of God Habila lived and is able to go on and tell his story.
This book is full of stories very similar to Habila’s. I think this book is so important because the world, especially Americans, need to see the persecution christians go through by radical muslims. This book is full of stories but these are only just a few. Go read this book and pass it along! It’s also available as an Ebook for those kindle lovers out there.
Also the authors are from a nonprofit organization called “The voice of martyrs”that offer help to persecuted christians. I say that because across the top of the book it says “The voice of martyrs” and because it’s a great organization!
Also there is a website: “i-am-n.com” go check it out!
I am so beyond excited to write this review, I literally read this book in 2 days it would’ve been shorter if I hadn’t been reading another book along with it.
Drain the Swamp by Ken Buck… such an insightful book, I think every American should read this. This book takes you through how Congress is currently acting with America’s finances and how it should be acting with it.
So Congress is sometimes labeled “the purse” and that’s because they are supposed to deal with how our money should be spent but instead Congress only cares about themselves and getting reelected. This is why Congress should have term limits because it supposed to be a service not a career. This book takes you through the corruption of how the government is spending our money. Congressman Buck takes you through how Congress hasn’t proposed a balanced budget in years and how we have been funding unauthorized programs (which isn’t illegal). I absolutely love this book because Congressmen Buck actually explains how we can “drain the swamp.” Literally gives step by step. Honestly this book will terrify you a little bit when you read about all the corruption that goes on but hopefully it will help wake up the American people. Our Founding Fathers did not want the federal government to have so much power so it’s our job, as the states, to take back our power.
Seriously, go read it.
So if you’re like me reading is your favorite hobby and especially now since I’m out of school for the summer I have a little bit more time to read all the books on my list. Today I’m going to review Women Who Work by Ivanka Trump, which I’m sure most of you have heard of. I’m going to be honest I didn’t really plan on reading her book at first because I like reading so I can further my education and her book is not one that I would normally read but I decided to pick it up and give it a shot. I have to say I did enjoy the book, however I wouldn’t consider it one of my favorites. Ivanka is very successful & works very hard and she gives some great advice on the steps to become successful and balancing work, family and social life but she did grow up in a very privileged life. She also addresses that she grew up more privileged than most but I also believe she has a great work ethic which is why she is so successful today. This book isn’t the miracle answer to becoming a millionaire but I do think it is very motivational and is a great place to start. This book is also super versatile you can read it and take notes from it no matter what point in your career you’re at. I think everyone can benefit from the business tips she address in her books. This book is truly inspiring for working women everywhere. It was such an easy read and I had a hard time putting it down. I would read a couple chapters on my lunch break at work and it was so inspiring and put me in such a positive mood to finish out the rest of my work day. Highly recommend this book to any working women, none of us are perfect and it’s good to be able to get advice from a very successful business woman.
